Months after lifting the lockdown, the British government is now introducing oppressive new measures - although not exactly a feared second nationwide lockdown.
The new system labels areas in England such as those in the north as medium-, high- or very high-risk. And they can move up and down the categories depending on their caseload over time.
The government says it has consulted local leaders about the new plan such as those in Manchester and Liverpool, where cases and hospital admissions are rising.
Some local leaders say the government is telling a blatant lie.
Prior to all this came the governments sudden 10 oclock curfew on the hospitality sector, creating an outcry among business owners.
The new measures will put many jobs and businesses at risk, economists say, despite the governments expansion of the job support scheme a few days ago.
Critics are already calling it a traffic light system that will be a repeat road to nowhere for the economy. They are also warning of inevitable redundancies and closures as struggling businesses face greater trouble in the months ahead.
